Mercedes-Benz’s budding EQ lineup of electric cars isn’t due to appear before 2019, but that isn’t stopping the automaker from trotting out EQ-branded concept cars. Following the Generation EQ, which debuted last year, is the EQ A pictured here. Previewing a potential compact EQ electric hatchback, the EQ A will be fully revealed at September’s Frankfurt auto show.

Under Benz’s latest naming scheme, the letter A denotes its Europe-market compact, the A-class. Hence this similar-size EQ model is graced by the same letter.
